School Community Council Page (S.C.C.)

The Durham District School Board (DDSB) recognizes the importance of partnership with parents and guardians in creating positive learning environments to ensure student achievement and well-being. We welcome your involvement in our schools. School councils influence decisions affecting their children’s education by advising principals on education topics and issues that affect the educational experience of students.

In elementary schools, a lot of time and energy is spent on fundraising but this isn't typically the case at the high school level. Parents on the SCC are advised of what is happening at the school through the participation of a member of the school administration, a teacher and student rep. Through the discussions at the meeting, parents are also able to ask questions and provide feedback about school programs and initiatives.

Our SCC chair for the 2023-24 school year is Jennifer Eady.
